I have suddenly had a stuttering problem with my new rx 580. Destiny 2 is by far the worst and GTA 5 is not great either. the GPU will momentarily drop in usage from 99% to 60% or lower (sometimes below 10%). i replaced my 960 two days ago and, it was fine the first night but last night it started bad. please help i don't want too have to go back to my 960.

And yes my graphics driver is up to date.

Gotta use DDU to remove Nvidia drivers, then reinstall the correct drivers

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

ohhhh so the nvidia drivers need to go completely.

Yeah. Make sure you use DDU, not the nvidia or windows uninstaller. DDU does the cleanest wipe and works really well. It's meant for stuff like this.

8086k

aorus pro z390

noctua nh-d15s chromax w black cover

evga 3070 ultra

samsung 128gb, adata swordfish 1tb, wd blue 1tb

seasonic 620w dogballs psu

yep restarted, drivers wiped and installed the amd graphics drivers only.

i have tried OC on my CPU and ram clocks and that changed nothing i have no idea what to do, i don't want to have to deal with this until i upgrade my entire system which will probably be a year away.

I'm running Asus rx480 (dual fan or sumthing like that) which is the same card (about) as rx580, and i have UNDERclocked my GPU for 50mhz, while keeping the gpu voltage on default level. This improved stability alot, and oddly enough i think it runs faster... I also modified the fan spinup curves, at default fan is at 50% at 85'c and 100% at 99'c, i changed thous to be 50% at 60'C and 100% at 80'c

Who ever manufactured your card probly has software that you can use to make similar change's.

i hope this helps.

tried it and no improvement. thanks anyway.

i have tried low to max settings with only about a 10 frame difference. i have tried doubling the resolution then scaling back down to 1080p with low and high settings, same problem. i have no idea what to do. should i just go back to my 960 try and get a refund and if not sell the 580 and then upgrade to a 1060 later.
