Build Help

birdwarrior

Im looking to build this PC in the next couple months, as I order parts...

a couple questions,

...is the 2080ti's price so high because they are sold out right now? or is this the price point they will always stay?

...is there a better monitor that would go more along with this PC setup? im not that good at monitors

any help would be greatly appreciated :)

What is this thing for?

I'd rather get slower memory, worse motherboard and less memory for another 2080ti

What would you recommend for a 27” monitor? I’ve had 32+ inch and they just seem to big for me. I’d rather have 2 27s or even just one.

What is your plan with those 3 m.2 ssds? Only get one boot m.2 and the rest can be sata. If you don't plan 3 way raid 0 there is no point.

Also 1200 W psu? A bit overkill imao. 850 W would still be plenty.

@Manderis I was looking to do raid 0 with the three m.2 Also the user that gave me the build, said the 1200w psu was the same price right now as the 850w. because in the future I may look to do NVLink with another 2080ti

Why raid 0? Do you have any specific use case that would profit from that or just for the lulz? And you are right the 110 $ are an OK price.

But be aware that you might have poor efficiency running your pc in idle. Did not find a specific efficiency curve for that psu though, just a general thing.

raid 0 is unnecessary, the single EX920 will be fine.

honestly I have no use cases, other than just raw speed, but I don't need the sata ports really on the mobo other than maybe one for the 4TB HD, and a fan connector.

Without speaking of experience I would say you would not feel a noticeable difference. I would just get one 1 TB drive and be done with it.

I was on a bit of a budget so I had an 8700k and a 1070ti and it runs great but I would have loved to do what you’re doing. Props man I don’t have the self control to save that much money.
