Rooting LG G3

Hey, today i tried to root my LG G3 using this (https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951) while all seemed to work when it got to the final part "rooting phone" it failed, i kept restarting it but same thing. i believe its because the root tool is for android 5.1, but my lg g3 is on marshmellow as i flashed it onto the phone from pc using the update tool from LG.

now i want to try downgrading the phone back to 5.1 and seeing if that works. how do i do this? there is no option in LGs update tool. Thanks :D

As long as you have the D855 model and are on 30B you can root. You can roll back to it but there's a high chance you'll brick your device

Would likely be the versioning under "Software Info" in "About Phone" on the Settings app.

also i got the marshmellow software from LG, not a custom rom. although i would like to put a custom rom on, but i cant root it. thats why im here.

Ok it didnt work the Kingroot way. what now? also do i need a sdcard? I have one but havnt got it in the device.

King root is useless, not sure what to do. It's not my main phone it's my old one I just wanted to root it to play around with. And I'm 30c version. Ugh wish I had never upgraded it to Marshmellow. It's been nothing but issues.

Yes but it just says making backup please wait, click the m when backup completed. But it never Compleats...
