Help my Windows 10 laptop (HP Notebook) won’t boot. I put in my power on password, and I get a black screen. It came with windows 10 installed, and no windows 10 disc or usb. Just now it showed up with the HP logo, and Preparing automatic repair, however hasn’t completely finished. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What model of notebook? Does it have a mechanical hard drive?

I would suggest bringing it to a computer repair store to atleast get the data off the HDD, then you could just use another PC to make a bootable Windows 10 USB and reinstall, might need a new HDD or other repaired parts though.

It just blue screened, and i got the black screen again

Mechanical Drive. Not sure of the model. 17” 1TB, got it around 2015, if that helps

If the repair doesnt work, I'd do what @bobbyd52 said and take it to someone who can backup your data and try to save it while its still in tact.

 

To me it sounds like your hard drive is starting to kick the bucket
