I am having issues with my ram being cut in half in my system and have tried several solutions to no avail. The odd thing about the issue is that all memory is being detected by windows and the Bios, but the bios is only giving out 2 8 gig profiles and windows simply tells me that only 16 gigs is usable.

Below are my system specs:

MSI B350 TOMAHAWK MOBO

Ryzen 7 1700

Corsair Vengence LPX 16G X2 2400 MHz

I have tried the solutions below

1. reseating ram (all my ram does match)

2. all my ram does match

3. Configuring Windows to allow more memory usage (x64 OS)

4. playing musical chairs with the ram cards in their slots

5. taking out memory limits it to half always whether it be 16 to 8 or 8 to 4

if anyone has experienced similar issues or has any expertise on the subject it would be much-appreciated THANKS!

I had a very similar issue when i first got Ryzen it was just with a 2x4 kit only half of mine was being shown in windows. I even tried re-installing windows with no avail. In the end i just had to sell a kit and buy a completely different one. It seems Msi boards are pretty picky with their ram so go to the product page on the Msi page and check for your Ram on the supported ram list.

Do i Recommend Ryzen? Yes. All of the Yes.
