New build

Kwiker

Hi guys,

I am about to buy a new system for the first time in 5/6 years and I am seeking your thoughts on what I am going for.

I am buying from Austalia.

The main goal of the build is gaming (LoL, PUGB, Overwatch etc) and also some productivity work (Programming).

CPU: Intel Core i5 9600K

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming OC 8GB

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro CMW16GX4M2C3000C15 16GB DDR4

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix Z390-F Gaming

Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe SSD 500GB

PSU: Cooler Master MWE Gold Fully Modular 650W

CPU Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H100i Pro 240mm Liquid

CASE: Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB SE Premium

I feel like the case might be overkill but... RGB...

I could consider upgrading the CPU to a i7 9700K or the GPU to a RTX 2080 but I am not sure it's worth it.

I should mention that I want to keep this build 3 years.

Think youve got yourself a very nice build there mate ! you could go for the 9700k w the 2070 and down the line (couple years) upgrade the GPU :)

What type of display are you planning to use, that will determine whether the upgrade is worth it.

Hi @DustierDolphin

I am currently having a IPS 1080p display... pretty basic stuff. But planning to upgrade for something like an Asus XG32VQ later this year.

I have updated the configuration. I removed the 500D SE case for a NZXT H500. With the money saved I can now go for a i7 9700K

I am just afraid of the temperatures I will get with the H500. To me it looks like there is less opening for air to go in.
