If I want to setup my SSD drive with a second SSD drive in a raid configuration, will i not be able to use my second 2TB drive on the same sata controller? My motherboard states that once I set the sata ports as raid, they all become raid. I can't pick and choose which is raid, and which is AHCI...

You can set your mobo SATA controller to RAID and never setup a RAID array and all will be fine, everything defaults to AHCI (as previously stated), which is the setting I think everyone should use if you are even dreaming of RAID someday, this way you will be able to use your current setup and a RAID array without needing to re-install or muck with your OS if your OS has issues with that switch, which they do.

Again, as reinforcement/proof, I have a two drive RAID 0 array and three stand alone drives on the same controller and a BluRay drive, another system is RAID 1 and again another regular drive.

I roll with sigs off so I have no idea what you're advertising.

This is NOT the signature you are looking for.
