Send photos videos to NAS while on vacation

pomkon

I'm going on holiday for a month. I have a mirrorless camera, mavic air, insta360 one x. I think I will need a lot of storage.

I don't have a laptop. But can I use my ipad to send photos to my home NAS  while on holiday? Synology, qnap, asustor?

Otherwise I'm thinking of getting a my passport wireless pro 2tb.

I currently have 400gb on 3 ipad, 300gb on sd cards, 500 on smartphones.

What NAS do you have?

For freenas you could get the OwnCloud plugin which basically turns it into a Cloud on which you could upload your stuff.

I'm pretty sure Qnap or Synology also allow for something similar.

You would have to be able to access the nas outside of your network, which is not normally allowed in them. You would most likely have to, (unless your nas supports it) set up some sort of web server that you can put files into, that are automatically copied & deleted to your nas.

Hi.

I  think you would be able to sync your photos to google drive (or other service) and then have your nas sync to that.

With your synology nas, you could use quickconnect and photo station to upload directly to you nas.
