Looking for headphones + mic

Hello guys, I'm looking for a headphone + mic combo to replace my Siberia V2. I don't have a set budget, but I was looking at the 598's and they look great(I mean this purely aesthetically) and I don't think I'd pay more than their price (which is about $270 in Romania).

I don't want a headset, because I want better sound and I don't need to buy the microphone right away. I am looking for a comfortable and preferably light pair of headphones; my Siberia feels really heavy after a few hours and they also seem to stick to the skin whenever it gets to hot.

I have and on-board sound card, although the mobo is the Maximus V Formula so I guess the sound card shouldn't be a problem (right?). I'll be gaming most of the time, but whenever I am gaming I am listening to music (mainly rock/metal), so the main use will be listening to music and ocassional Skype calls.

Now about the mic, the only thing I want from it is to be clear enough for Skype calls. I don't know much about mic's so please help me with this. What headphones around the price of the 598's would you guys recommend?Or should I just get these ones?

You really don't need much for skype calls.

Clip it to the headphone's cord all the way up next to where it terminates into the headphone. Then just adjust the levels on the mic until you sound loud enough for conversation.

"shitty in-line" Zalman mic recommendations: +1

Thanks for the reply. How is this mic compared to the ones on the Siberia? If there even is a way to compare them.

What about the headphones though? I still need to find one pair :D

I regularly game with someone that uses Siberia's and the Zalman is on par with them. Would you consider the Beyerdynamic DT 770 80ohms? They tend to be in a similar price bracket to the 598's. Onboard sound will be fine, you can always upgrade later when you feel like spending money in that department again.

Your headphone choice is fine either way.
