BIOS Lockout

A friend of mine has a old dell Inspiron laptop (not sure what model). I was at his place trying to get it up and running but there is a BIOS lockout on it.

I tried all the default passwords I could think of (Dell, 0000, admin), He says he never put the password on and I am pretty sure he didn't (doesn't know enough to do it).

I also tried taking the cmos battery out for around 20 minutes but it didn't fix the issue.

I cant think of any other way to get into the computer, any ideas?
