Getting a new pc

So,I'm getting a new-ish pre built pc which has an e5 1620 xeon processor,newer tech here is pretty expensive.I just wanted to know to what other cpus it compares? such as a i7 4770 (old cpus) and new cpus such as r5 1400 and such.

The E5 1620 is essentially an i7-2600 with a 200 MHz higher base clock. Any benchmark you see with a 2600, 2600K, or 2700K (not overclocked) will likely be a good indication of what you will see in real world.
