New GPU or PSU?

Dobby240

So heres the build.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Dobby240/saved/kxT7WZ

I have a "Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming" GPU at the moment and am thinking of just getting a 2070 to make it a cherry on a very nice cake, as it were.

The Motherboard, CPU, RAM and NVME are the newest parts of my build. (not had them a month yet!)

The rest of it is coming up to about 4-5 years old and I don't plan on overclocking any of it just yet as I wanna just enjoy it before I embark on that task, (never done it before)

So tell me.. with all this shiny I've just stuffed in to the old box would you consider upgrading/replacing the PSU before you go sticking a powerful GPU in it?

Let me know your thoughts.

Any and all welcome.

So you have that PSU? Dude that PSU is amazing there's no need to upgrade it, 750 is more than enough. Get the 2070.

Considering it's about 5 years old already. Whats a good maximum age to get to before replacement? any ideas?

depends on how long it was under load and how much wattage it was under load

since you had a gtx 970 then you barely stressed that PSU and the new 2070 will also barely stress it, 750w is waaayy more than enough.

even cheap crappy power supplies live a ridiculous amount of time, i wouldnt worry about it
