Hey All!

To preface this: I had the A50s back when they originally released, and they crapped out at after about a year and a half or so, and have been getting frustrated with the cable getting tangled up on my gaming chair on my current Headphones.

I currently own a set of Astro A40s, and am looking to see if I can get these puppies converted to a bluetooth set up. Deal is, the traditional A40s have to go through a Mixamp to work properly.

The way its connected to my computer is, I have a optical cable going from Mobo. to the Mixamp. From there, a 4-pole 3.5mm cable goes to a in-line audio cable for the headset, which then that cable plugs into the headset using a 5-pole 3.5mm jack. After doing some sleuthing online, I can't find a 4-pole Bluetooth transmitter(either one-way to two-way) anywhere. They're all 3-pole, which I don't believe will work for my headset(would like to use the mic as I game with this headset).

Anyone know if there is one available, and where I could find one? If not, anyone know of an alternative I could do cheaply, rather than having to go out and buy a set of wireless headphones. I don't feel like dropping almost $300(Astro A50s) on headphones again :S

As a side note, maybe Linus and the team could do a review of different bluetooth receivers and a how-to on converting your gamestation's wired headset to bluetooth using the reviewed receivers/transmitters too!? :)

this can't be done unless the bluetooth transmitter also has an amp inside it but i'm not sure if those exist, i can't find a single bluetooth transmitter that talks about the amplifier.

and if they do have an amplifier then it's most likely a really shitty one, because they don't even mention it, so you'll lose alot of audio quality

Yeah, that's what I was running into myself, but figured I'd give it the ol' college try on the boards, to see if anyone might have a nugget of wisdom regarding this. Expectations weren't high, so not too worried! :) Thanks for the response!
