Reset BIOS password

xuvv

Hi all,

I just got back from vacation, and i forgot my BIOS password, my motherboard is a MSI B75A-G4, I tried to take out and put back the CMOS battery, but it still asks for the password. Any ideas?

either you have a reset CMOS button or you need to completely disconnect the power from the PC, then press the power button, take out the CMOS battery and wait for a while.

Turn off PC. Unplug PC. Hold power button for 5ish seconds. Remove cmos battery. Touch the two metal contacts for the battery on the motherboard together with a coin (or the side of the battery, or a screwdriver) for 10 seconds. Put battery back in, cmos should be reset.

I assume you meant the MSI B75A-G43 (missed the 3 on the end).

If you look at page 1-30 on your motherboard manual it will show you where to locate the pins necessary to reset CMOS.

To make it easier for you I took a screen shot of your manual:
