BSOD when playing witcher 3

Hi, after swapping my gaming system from Ryzen to Intel, I've been getting occasional BSOD when playing Witcher 3.

 

Stop Code: KERNEL_MODE_HEAP_CORRUPTION 

 

 

It happened to me twice during ~30 hour playtime. First after about 5 hours of playing, second - now. It happens only in witcher 3. I've re-played Witcher 1 and 2, also playing a good amount of Battlefield 5 pretty much every day, and nothing happens there. So I don't think its a coincidence that is happens only in TW3.

 

I'm not really concerned because it happens rarely and only in one game that I don't play very often. I would blame it on unstable CPU overclock, but BF5 pushes CPU alot harder compared to TW3, yet it doesn't crash there even during long  sessions of 4-5 hours. 

 

System 

 

i5 8600k OCd to 5Ghz

Asus Prime-A Z370

GTX 1080 FE

EVGA GQ 750W 

 

Anyone got an idea why this is happening?

when you did the switch, did you do a 100% fresh install of windows?

Switched right before Christmas, did clean Win 10 1809 install on a new SSD.

so some quick googling indicates this to be a driver issue. Try installing the previous driver and see if the behavior follows.

I already did, I was running older nVidia driver when first BSOD happened - 417.22, then I've updated it to the latest 417.35, and it happened again.

Go older. This is a thread from November on the Geforce forums with the exact same issue on Witcher 3.

Older driver's won't allow me to launch BF5, so I will pass.
