im currently building a new pc and i would like to use the ram i had in my prebuild with the ram my friend had in his old computer. i have 12gb of ram, one stick of 8gb one 4gb  both are ddr4 at 2400mhz and 1.2v. my friends ram is the thing but from a different brand. would there be any problem if i were to use all 4 of them in my new pc?

ram model1: Hynix HMA81GU6AFR8N-UH

ram model2: Samsung M378A1K43CB2-CRC

motherboard: asus rog strix Z370-H

Not sure why are you using that crappy board, but Intel's pretty forgiving on memory. As long as all sticks are unregistered DDR4, they should work.

So all 4 modules are completely different models? (brand and model name)

 

I've had issues on socket 1155 when I was trying to use 3 different 2GB sticks in the same rig. 2 sticks worked fine in any combination (they had to be used in the slots next to eachother though). As soon as I installed a 3rd one the system refused to boot.
