Hey guys, I just purchased an rtx 2070. I have a ryzen 7 1700 and 24gb of ram. When I'm playing destiny 2 or overwatch on recommended settings, I'm getting very low fps. I get 200 or so on initial load up and then it tanks to about 40 or less on d2. Overwatch doesn't even try. It sits at around 30. Anyone know what I could do to fix it?

Did you previously have an AMD graphics card? There may be a driver conflict. Using DDU will help.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

I had an rx 580 but it was having the same issues, so i returned it. That was on fresh install. How do I go about using ddu?

Give this a shot, should have everything you need.

anything else you could recommend?

Only checking if dual channel and ram speeds are working correctly, or verifying game cache.

How do I do that? Forgive me for not knowing a whole lot about pcs.

CPU-Z will help, and verifying game cache is different depending on what you're playing the game though. You should google how to do it via epic launcher and/or steam

Okay. I have cpu z and checked cache, I'm not sure what I'm looking at on cpu z

The memory tab will tell you all you need to know. Dual channel, single data rate frequency (so half of what it's running), etc.

Here's a few things for you to check out.

Dual channel is working but it seems xmp or DOCP is disabled (probably). Since your memory is only at 2133, try enabling some faster ram speeds in the BIOS.

Hey, click on the CPU window here. It seems there could be a problem with CPU as CPU time spy score is more than 50% lower of what it should be.

I was considering the ram speeds affecting infinity fabric and therefore CPU performance, but I just remembered the "first gen Ryzen stuck at 1.6GHz" error that people get a lot.

To fix it, all you have to do is go to the BIOS and restore optimized defaults.
