Is there a certain type of switch that you want? I'm sure you know that there are a ton of different mechanical switches that feel different.

Cherry blues would be my first choice because of the quality and i love the tactile bump

but i have also heard the kailh box jade switch is amazingly tactile

I know he already answered, but its common to spend lots of money on custom mechanical keyboards because it's usually everything someone wants in a keyboard, kind of like a self-built PC.

There are budget options but its an expensive-ish hobby so this probably isn't the route for you.

You can build your own mechanical keyboards.

You can buy barebones keyboard with only the housings and pcb, then you can choose your prefered switches.

You can even mix the switches, say you want brown switches for the AWSD only but everything else is blues.

Thats the fun of it.

I know that the blues are way more clicky, I think the browns are a little less clicky. Look it up, though, I've never tried browns.

Reds are linear. To me, they just feel nice and smooth pressing all the way down.

It's a "gamer" keyboard, but you shouldn't have any issues with it. HyperX mostly makes good stuff so no problems with this. I'm not a big fan of the red back lighting but that's my own personal preference. If you like it, you should get it.

Yeah, I thought I would want it too when I bought my non-mech keyboard, but I really only use it when I play in the dark, and that was 2 years ago when I didn't remember the keyboard layout yet.
