What exactly is a CPU clamp screw? Are you talking about a TR4 mobo?

Make sure there's a standoff where the hole Is, Its probably designed like that. remove the standoff then continue the rest of the build as usual, It shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah not sure why you wold have removed the socket clamp but in any case you need to loosen the other screw and realign it it has to go in it came out

Lets take a few steps back how did you get here did you remove the backplate, the socket clamp? if the parts came off of that motherboard then they must go back on we need a little more history on how you got to this point

It's the metal plate on the back of the mobo

I think you should loosen anything near and related to the socket as something is misaligned I believe the backplate has studs that locate it without fiddling around with it but not familiar with that board but clearly there is misalignment and until you find what is causing it you'll be stuck where you currently are, so you just found that screw laying in your case? how did it become removed from the motherboard in the first place?

In the photo you provided there are 2 locations for a screw to secure the cpu bracket one is no long in its place how did it become removed from the bracket? Loosen the other crew that is still present and adjust the bracket so it lines up with the holes

Take the bracket off take a picture with it off and then take a pic of the back of the motherboard do not circle anything just post the photo's
