Windows keeps reinstalling and reinstalling and reinstalling the newest update (I'm trying to get this update due to monster hunter world needs the newest windows 10 update so I can stop getting an error code... yes I know seems like the dumbest crap ever)

Any help on a fix?

Doing a google search on the error code responds with,

One of these errors is error 0x8024200D that comes up when performing aWindows update. ... Windows error code 0x8024200d isn't new to the Windows10 Anniversary Update as it has been around for a while. It simply indicates that there is a problem with the download and that its files are corrupted or missing.Aug 25, 2018

So, first guess would be that something is goofy with your internet connection.  A bad connection would prevent the files from downloading correctly.  If possible, may want to try and roll back your system to a time prior to the attempt to get this latest update.  Once that is done, then give it another shot.  Good luck.

Glad that you were able to get it going.  Now that things have cleared up a bit, might want to run some diagnostics, etc., just to make sure it stays that way.  I would start by making sure everything was up to snuff by using the SFC command.  There are several different options to go along with that command so make sure you trying the ones that most fit the problem.  There is a lot of information out there concerning the use of the SFC command so one of the sites that I found that can explain it is here:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a93

The last time I used it (about four weeks ago), it found a bunch of screwy things that I didn't even know I was having problems with.  I ran the SFC along with a couple of options (don't remember which), and it replaced the goofed up files with new ones that it downloaded directly from Microsoft.  Did the fix, rebooted, and haven't had any problems since.

Happy New Year.
