Wifi/Lan extender without losing the speed?

gta6287

My router/modem is placed 30~ feet away from my room in the living room and I'm planning on connecting my pc with lan cable straight to the router. How can I do that without losing the internet speed? Or should I just use 30+ feet lan cable?

A standard ethernet cable won't impact speed unless it's over 100m in length. A wifi extender will impact speed negatively, usually by a very good bit.

It will only impact speed if it's longer than 300 feet/100 meters

Ummm..

But yeah whoever told you that about 'slowing down' is misinformed, as per Lurick you'll have the same amount of bandwidth up to the 100 meter specification.
