so to kick it off i feel i need to tell you the problem i am having with my current pc. so the problem is that my pc is bottle necking on memory. i max out my 16Gb ram making my games lag like crazy. and there could be more to it then that bc im kinda dumb when it comes to pc builds. i do run other things in the back ground as well as my game and thats chrome with someones stream in the back ground for noise. i know that chrome eats memory like crazy but you know. so the current pc is this. bored is ASRock Z97 killer fatal1ty, im guessing a intel i5 i dont remember its been 5 years ago, a msi 980 gpu, a western digital black 1 Tb drive, 2 G.skill 8Gb ram and a corsair ax760 to power is all. now again this was 5 years ago when i put this thing together so i have two ideas for a new build.

msi x470 gaming pro bored with a amd ryzen 7 2700x, G.skill trident z 32 Gb memory, western digital black NVMe 500GB M.2, a western digital 4Tb drive, and a msi- GeForce RTX 2080 8 GB GAMING X TRIO Video Card and liquid cooling.

or

ASRock Fatal1ty X470 gaming bored, and i think i can do either i7 9700k or ryzen 7 same memory, same drives and liquid cooling and same video card.

both are over 2k $ if you guys know of a cheaper way that will last me another 5 years or longer that would be cool. or any ideas are welcomed let me know thanks

If ram is being eaten up, squash background tasks. Or upgrade to 32gb, up to you.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.
