So I kinda accidentally went overboard with updates and after a reboot my Aero 15x crashed when launching task manager and BSODed with Critical Process Died, but not specifying any error codes or processes.

The cpu and gpu are undervolted but neither have had issues in the past.

So then I rebooted and was greeted by the BIOS. Again and again. I realized that only the storage drive was showing up and not the boot drive. I did a cold start to try and revert my undervolt but it died again before I could do anything. Now it just refuses to boot consistently. What do?

Edit: I should mention this is right after a windows update. dunno what version it is but none of my other PCs have had to update so this might be one of those beta, not required ones that screwed it up.

My first move here would be to reset CMOS. Is the reset pins or the CMOS battery in any way easily accessible?

If you do that you'll have to reconfigure your BIOS (such as boot options) just keep that in mind.

I i can't get windows recovery to roll back I might figure out how to do that. I guess I should have mentioned that this happened after updating to the latest build which I think wiped all my drivers.

Were you already having stability issues prior to experimenting with undervolting?

Nope, carried the same settings over to the new build after it wiped all my configs. Had to redownload all the custom fixes for the Aero 15, etc. And now it doesn't work :) (I think windows might be the problem but I can't roll back argh. Why include that option if it doesn't work!?)

There is a limit maybe -0.200V you can make it work if you lower the CPU clock with it.

If the system was stable prior to playing with the voltage it's tempting to blame that & only that unless the system became corrupted in the process.

Oh no I'm well aware of the limit, and I can assure you that that isn't it :)

Maybe I wasn't clear but the settings have not changed in the sense that they are different. I merely transferred my old settings (100% stable 99% of the time) to the new build of windows because Microsoft decided to roll out an update. This update happened to nuke all my personal preferences in all my programs so I had to put them back in. I rebooted after completing everything and this happens :P

So that's what's going on. My only suggestion there is if you've set the voltages back to default (which may help) and it hasn't done anything then there's a driver or compatibility issue.
