HP Omen X 35 help

Hi guys,

I am kinda mixed right now. I just received the new Ultrawide Omen X 35. My problem is that i have a max refreshrate of 50hz with HDMI. I Dont have a displayport on my laptop so my question is,schould i buy a Displayport to HDMI port?      Will i get the full 100hz on 1440P?
