I'm looking for the right long term storage solution for me.
It's about photo and video files that need to be stored and saved in the long term. Currently there are about 4tb but it will be more than 10tb on duration

(it should cost as little as possible)

Bluray:
Small steps possible
little space

hdd:
classically
small effort

tape:
high entry price

Cloud:
everything has to be uploaded
running costs

Do i miss any options

what should i use

If you're doing this to have back ups, it's recommended to follow the 3-2-1 rule:

  • 3 copies of the data
  • 2 copies of the data on different storage devices
  • 1 copy offsite

At the minimum then you should have a local copy on a backup drive (HDD is fine) and a copy somewhere not in your house. The cloud is an option, but so is leaving it with a trusted person or a safety deposit box.

Bluray is dumb for storing large amounts of data, you're looking at ~80€ or 80$ berfore tax per TB, HDD cost half as much are and faster to read and write to.

At least not in Germany
I come without much searching for a price of 29,99 € for 50 25 gb disks

which equates to a price of 23.99 per tb

I was looking at the 100GB disks, those are around 8€ each. I/O is still pretty slow and to get 10TB in the end, you'd need 400 of the 25GB disks. That's an organization nightmare, two or three HDDs are way easier to deal with and you can get a data recovery service for those. Three 4TB barracudas are propably the best way.
