Hi guys, so story time

Been away for 4 month and when i come back, i fiind my controller batteries having some kind of white powder ( dont have picture of the batteries, threw them away) and my controller not working.

Was wondering if there could be any way that i could clean it or, what shall i do as my controller doesn't turn on.

It costs a lot to buy an xbox 360 controller in romania, i mean i dont want to spent like 40 euro for a new one, and second hand people are selling it here arround the same price, maybe 20 euro if i m lucky

Properly cleaning it will require you to take it apart, clean the plastic like a sane person would (water and soap), clean the PCB with some alcohol (or water and let it very properly dry) and you can easily clean those contacts with (white) vinegar. Just throw the contact in a bit of vinegar, let it soak for about an hour and clean them with alcohol and they should be good to go. The only downside is that usually the vinegar eats away from the first layer of shine, making the contact looks more brown than silver. You could try your best with some alcohol there too, but it might not remove all the battery acid.

Also, I am not a chemist or whatever so I don't know how bad that stuff is.. But usually when I handle battery acid I use some gloves.
