I7 7700k OC

Heyo

I just started overclocking and need some kind of guide how to achive the best oc for my CPU. I am using a i7 7700k on an Asus Maximus Hero VIII. Currently my CPU runs on 5Ghz on all cores without any additional voltage. How far should i be able to push it with my 120mm AIO my temps are arround 75°C with this OC.

So you're at like 1.2 volts? Damn that is a silicon lottery winner right there. You sure you're not just on auto voltage?

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - dark mode Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

 

How many watts do I need? Seasonic Focus thread, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

i am looking in my intel xtu and it tells me a core voltage of 1.2

Hot diggity that's a good overclock, I'd say get the highest clock you can for 1.25 volts, that way your CPU cooler will stay nice and quiet

with that voltage i got it running on 5.3 on 2 cores and 5.2 on 4 cores

That's very good. What are you using to stress test?

I don't know what their stress methodology is but I'm assuming if it's stable with that test it'll be stable in games.

i gonna do a stress test for about 2h now to see the max temperature (2h so the water can heat up)
