1. Budget & Location

£1500, UK

2. Aim

Gaming/Streaming (CS, but also more intensive games such as Witcher 3, which I had to play at minimum at like 30fps which was painful a while back)

3. Monitors

2, 1080p (main 144hz, second 60hz) - already own

4. Peripherals

Just need to buy Windows, all peripherals are top quality already.

5. Why are you upgrading?

Had this PC for over 4 years, 750Ti and the rest just aren't the same anymore and also want to be able to stream without lagging horribly.

Not too knowledgeable on PC building, this will be my first build. I've put together this list from pcpartpicker but since I don't intend on OC, I've been told I don't need the motherboard. Was looking to see if someone could help out? Btw 8700k is cheaper than the 8700 on amazon right now so didn't see much point in downgrading that.

Check out this build:

I did sacrifice some GPU horsepower for a good motherboard, PSU, and case (compared to your build). However, a RTX 2070 will easily get 144 FPS at 1080p in CS at max settings, and is powerful enough for Witcher 3 at 1080p at high-ultra settings (the framerate will be over 60).

As for Windows, you can get it from Kinguin for $15.

Cheers, I'll have a look. Have you tried streaming on your PC? How does it handle if so?

Honestly if you don't plan on overclocking you don't need that motherboard and since the 1080 Ti has skyrocketed in price it would be better to go with a 2070 or 1080

Like what was said in the OP he didn't care for overclocking so he would NEED that good of a motherboard also the PSU doesn't matter either as long as it's 80+ certified and the case it totally preference.

Edit: Didn't realize that was your build

CPU: Intel I5-7500

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master ML240

Storage: Corsair 120GB M.2 NVME

500GB Samsung 860 EVO

I haven't tried streaming on my PC. An 8700K is plenty for streaming though, check out Gamers Nexus benchmarks online.

What's the harm in a good motherboard if the OP has the budget for it? PSU doesn't matter? Do you know what 80+ even means?

The OP asked for a part list, and I gave it to him/her. Why are you complaining about a build I made for him/her if you can't even support your arguments?

Most likely want a Ryzen 8 core for streaming, also a better value overall, just OC the 1700 to like 3800-4ghz depending on your luck. Ryzen 3000 is supposed to be announced at CES in janurary, may come with 12-16 core options on AM4, though cheaper VRMs would be questionable.

Don't need a 1080ti for 1080p 144hz really. Is the display free-sync? Either way Vega 56 is cheaper than a 1070ti(tier GPU which I would suggest) and comes with 3 free games atm, resident evil 2, DMC5, and The division 2

Cooler is a bit overkill, but if you can fit it might as well I guess

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Cheers, I upgraded the cooler to a H100i but keeping the mobo the same as I read that they're basically the same
