SO to begin I have a dell Inspiron 5680 that i bought from bestbuy. Came with a 1060 3gb gpu, a intel I7-8700 cpu, 8gs or ddr4 ram, and 460w power supply. I recently bought a 1080 founders edition so i had to also upgrade the power supply aswell.  I bought Corsair 650w and connected all the cables and now it will not say on. the cpu fan and the fan on the rear will turn on for split second and then turn off and my power button would be flashing a constant yellow light. I am not to sure what the problem would be since im kinda new to upgrading. I assumed it would either be the motherboard or the wall outlet but not 100% sure. any suggestions?!

also motherboard is Blue Skull 17544-1

How many yellow flashes? 4? any beeps?

First hit suggested 4 flashes (and 4 beeps) means a memory module may have been loosened or some other peripheral was disconnected. reseat and try again.

The extension that comes installed on the factory power supply is an adapter iirc. I do not believe that motherboard uses a standard power supply pin configuration.

to add to  this if that's the case  which it very well could be there is Im sure an adapter made to  resolve this,    my experience on the optiplex's  9010 on  up i beleive had a  strange configuration  ,  and  you need an adapter for them but the 24 pins weren't  24 pin on them,  knowing dell though they love making stuff proprietary

found an article on the subject from the dell community forum

Does it still boot if you return it to stock?

If you get a new motherboard you need a new case, as all of the front panel io is proprietary.

Really my reccomendation would be use it as it sits or sell it and build a new pc. Can you make proprietary dell parts work? Yes. Is it a mega pain in the ass? Mega yes (my current pc is using a proprietary dell mobo).
