what mid raged card would be OK for VR, like would be ok as in would a 1070 ti be ok ?

Budget- around £700-£800

I think you can get the 1080 Ti at that price

You could probably get an 2080 or something (Like this one)

If you're formally an engineer, avoid responsibility. That's what senior engineers get paid for.
