Since I've upgraded to this gtx 1060 6gb I've noticed that system performance became somewhat unsmooth. By saying that I mean that there're stutters when scrolling webpages (especially those with large images in it), sometimes moving windows is also intermittent. Also, there are moments when my cursor is moving with about 2 seconds delay after I move the mouse. I didn't spot any of those in games so far. I'm pretty sure this is the issue with the graphics driver, but I didn't find any similar issues on the web to help me solve this. This is very annoying. I mean, like, a lot.

The specs are:

i5 2500 (p8h77-v)

8gb dual ch ddr3

win 8.1 on the ssd

msi gtx 1060 6gb

Video drivers were purged via DDU before installing the new ones.

Thanks!

Did you use DDU in safe mode ?  Try that if you didn't.  Set BIOS to defaults and give her a shot.  Also if you don't mind me asking what video card did you have before this ? Also please fill in your signature so we can help you better.

Sure, it was done in safe mode. And yeah, I've tried to clear cmos, but since it was in a default setting, that didn't help.

The gpu I've had before was gtx 760 2gb.

Ya I had a 760.  Which OS you using ?  Is the frame rate low or it stutters and runs jerky and not smooth but framerate is high ?

As I've mentioned in the 1st post, this is win 8.1. And I've also mentioned that I don't see any problems in games so far.

If games run fine, I don't think theres anything wrong with the monitor.  It is when you get to desktop that it gives problems.  Im thinking a clean install would fix this, but Im not telling you to do that as it's a hassle and a last resort.

Too much hassle, yeah, just gonna stay with that.

Maybe will get a new system tomorrow and then reinstall everything.

Thanks anyways.
