Bottlenecking

Hey, I was browsing the gpu market in my country and I stumbled upon a deal on a gtx 970, and I wondered if my i5-2400 and 8gb of ddr3 ram might be bottlenecking the gpu. If so, would a gtx 750ti be a better gpu for me? (I already have one).

The 970 will run fine with it and it'll definitely be an upgrade over your 750Ti.

Completely depends on the game and settings. I would suspect that in more modern games it will struggle to use the 970 to the fullest but in more gpu demanding games you could increace the graphics settings to put more load on the gpu. The thing about a cpu bottleneck is that it limit the amount of fps you can get in a game regardless of gpu. If you can't get above that fps you can always crank up the settings until the gpu can just nearly got that fps and the bottleneck is gone.

Some games yes, others not. But i'd still command you to upgrade if you find a nice deal.

CPU bottleneck? Pump up that resolution and graphic settings.
