I have put a ASUS Strix GTX 780 3GB in to a 2500K system and it shows as 0MB capacity in GPU-Z it shows as a generic pnp device in device manager and it tells me to search online for graphics device error 43. I have done that and every thread is the same list of people asking if they plugged in the power cables and is it seated correctly but none have useful information. I have had some luck on this forum in the past so thought I would post it here. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it and made sure it is seated correctly, the power cables are plugged in correctly, I have downloaded the Nvidia drivers from latest all the way to a few updates before the latest. Now I am completely out of ideas what to do or what it could be. Power supply is more that good enough to power it, its compatible with all my other parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Can you test the card in another system? And (I don't yet own an Nvidia card) is there an uninstall tool to remove even leftovers from places like temp folders and the registry? My other question is, can you still game on it? If you play GTA V I know it has a handy dandy bar that tells you if you're about to reach the VRAM limit of your card in the graphic settings. Also maybe try benching with something like FurMark. Where did you get the card, hopefully you weren't scammed. ?

try to uninstall your GPU drivers using DDU, or yet reinstall your OS completely from scratch. it is hard to guess since you can only describe the issue. try that first and maybe it will fix for ya

It does work in other systems yes. I bought it preowned from a UK store called CEX and they offer a 2 year warranty on electronics so if need be I can always send it back for a replacement or refund. It is impossible to game on as the PC seems to treat it as a display output and nothing else

I know, that's the problem. I am not a complete scrub when it comes to building PCs but I am nowhere near competent enough to troubleshoot problems like this so I have to come to places like this and try to describe the issue as best I can. Any other information you need I can probably find for you. On the reinstallation of the OS, I have reinstalled the OS 3 times and the problem persists throughout every reinstall

Gotcha. Well at least you have a warranty.

Try what Code.016 said using DDU. That should remove left over garbage from things like the registry. Otherwise, since it seems to work in other systems, you may indeed have to reinstall Windows.

Windows 7 or Windows 10?

If that does not work, then your final choice is to return the card and ask for replacement. maybe the fault is on its bios or on the card itself. I suggest that you personally return the card to the vendor and ask them to test it on their end, then if it is still the same, ask for replacement and have it tested out first.

btw, do you have any other cards that can be tested? it might be your PCIE slot that has a problem. how may x16 or x8 slots do you have on your mobo? maybe try the other slots and see if it works. do mind that if that slots has only 1 x16 and 1 x8, then you speed might be a little slower.

Did you find this Nvidia thread in your research process? Wondering if you could try the solution at the top. https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/861231/geforce-drivers/nvidia-amp-windows-10-how-i-solved-the-code-43-error-/

Just to show what I am seeing when I load DXDIAG and GPU-Z. It knows its Nvidia though since using DDU its not saying its a 780 anymore, no doubt it will when I reinstall the drivers. I am just about to install Nvidia drivers again so fingers crossed

I did but honestly seeking out Virtu MVP is something I have never done before. Another step I will take is uninstall and reinstall Windows updates just in case something went wrong in there after installing windows

So I tried the DDU thing and reinstalled Nvidia drivers and it has the same results (definitely keeping that program BTW its top notch), then went on to follow the instructions on 'simply' uninstalling Virtu MVP and cannot find that anywhere on my PC. I had to laugh at the instructions to finding the Virtu MVP because it literally said 'simply' then went on to explain it is in my control panel uninstall program section and found nothing from Virtu MVP or LucidLogix there at all. I then googled where to find it and found a step by step guide but unfortunately the person who posted the screenshots decided to blur out the file path and just show the uninstall file so that was useless since from what I could see on the screenshots its somewhere on the C drive lol. I just wanted to build my nephew a PC for Christmas so he could do school work and play a few games but honestly, I'll buy him a PS4 and a chrome book lol
