I'm currently working on replacing my E drive (look at attachments) with a 3 or preferably a 4 TB drive because I need more space and the drive is quite old (and used) and I've started to get "current pending sector count" warnings on it so those are the reasons for my replacement of the drive.

Any recommendations for what drive to buy (4TB) below or around 150$ that is reliable and some speed would be nice too.

I will store mostly videos on the drive but also games which is why I need a large capacity drive with some speed to it.

When I got my new drive is it possible to take out my F drive and put my new drive there and move everything I want to the new drive from the E drive then put my F drive back and then take out my E drive and put the new drive there.

Any help is appreciated!

WD Blue is nice and silent. Not fastest drive on market, but fast enough. Of course some Seagates or WD blacks are faster, but first look at youtube videos that shows difference between 5400 and 7200 HDD games loading time. Not so big difference in fact. Want load games faster? Make 1TB partition at the beginning of your 4TB drive - this will be faster partition.

And instead of replacing - just add another HDD to your system. It's only 6-8 Watts, so it's completely irrelevant - and you'll have your old drive for some not important stuff, temporary downloads, extra backups etc.

I have had excellent luck buying HGST/Hitachi drives off of Newegg. Such as this one here. HGST's have proven to be of the most reliable drives on the market, and you can get 'em dirt ass cheap compared to others. WD bought out HGST but HGST retained their manufacturing plants and is as different from WD drives now as they were before the buyout. WD is still good, but overpriced imo.

I used to swear by Seagate drives until having a slew of horrid experiences with them. I will never buy or recommend a Seagate drive as long as I live.
