Your Experience with Autism or Someone with Autism? (The Revival?)

About a year and a few months ago, I did a thread with the very same premise, but that thread is pretty damn old, so rather than reviving an old thread, I figured that it would be a little wiser to redo it completely, as a number of new people have came in anyway.

How is your experience with autism, or how was your experience with someone who has it?

 

Personally, I'm just kinda terrible at socializing with people, but that's about it. That and I talk to myself a lot.

I've known quite a few people with it.

 

Interactions tend to go well, but there have been a couple times where I forget to explain things in more simpler terms for them to understand, but more often than not, it goes pretty well.

What's it like? What would you say to people who know very little about it?

In general I like people with functioning autism. Usually they really appreciate directness, so you can be open and honest with them and cut out all the bullshit politeness stuff.
