USB hub or what?

Go to solution Solved by Sharif,

I've heard about them. are they good?

supposedly yes because if you get a usb hub you will have very less bandwidth than a pci version

Hey guys! First of all I would like to apologize if this is a wrong place to put this thread. And secondly, I didn't get anything else for the topic, so i kept it like that ;)

So, my old pc's mobo ,MSI G31TM-P21 has a total of 4 back usb ports with 2 front usb ports, which makes it 6 ports. But, my front ports (2 USB and a mic and a headphone port) just go inside when i insert any thumb drive . (I don't know, may be a screw is lost). So, at the rear, i have my Logitech webcam,my keyboard ,and my USB nano receiver.(bought one today). So, now, i only have one port for other usage. What should i do? I thinking of getting a hub. is it useful? Or, should i check and see if my front usb ports can stay intact? Is there any way to keep 'em intact? Use zipties, twisties or something like that?

So,I have two options:

#1- Use a hub

#2-Try to fix the front usb ports.

EDIT: Even if I want to get a hub, it should be in the price range of 20-40$.

i don't think it is easily possible to fix the front usb case ports if your case is cheap then get a new case and if it is not then get a pci port to usb thingy
