Hey so my friend has saved up $600 USD and I have a gaming pc setup that is worth around that much can you tell me if it is any good for him to play fortnite Garry's mod and a few other games

https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hypeftwmlg/saved/6QBtgs

Do you already own this PC listed in the PCPP list that you are going to sell your friend, or is this just something you have picked out on PCPP for your friend to buy?

Either way, that PCPP list is terrible and you should not buy it or sell it to someone you consider a friend.

  • Poor motherboard (not the worst out there, but there's better stuff for the price)
  • Slow RAM that will cause performance loss with that CPU
  • Useless GPU (you'd be better off with the Vega 8 graphics on the 2200G than the GT710)
  • No SSD
  • Fire hazard PSU
  • 1366x768 monitor

CPU: Intel i7 6700k  | Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 5 | RAM: 2x16GB 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance LPX | GPU: Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080ti | PSU: Corsair RM750x (2018) | Case: BeQuiet SilentBase 800 | Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports | SSD: Samsung 970 Evo 500GB + Samsung 840 500GB + Crucial MX500 2TB | Monitor: Acer Predator XB271HU + Samsung BX2450

That GT 710 won't handle 1080p youtube, let alone gaming. The minimum he'd want is a GTX 1050ti.

There's going to be a video that linus literally JUST released on Floatplane (early access) on building gaming PCs at different pricepoints, including $500

Rule #1 of Floatplane is you do not talk about Floatplane.

Vega 8 integrated graphics in the 2200G should be fine for Fortnite and Garrys Mod, but if you want to upgrade to a dedicated GPU buy a used RX480 or similar off of craigslist. As @Herman Mcpootis mentioned you can get cheap keys for Windows on places like Reddit and Kinguin if you wanted to save a bit of money.
