new build seemingly randomly shuts off

Hello,

I recently advised my friend who lives far away from me on how to build a pc, made a parts list for him, which he ordered around cyber monday. Here is the list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/sz48w6 (different memory, gskill ripjaws were cheaper then at 3000 mhz). 

He completed the build with my help, it posted first try and we installed windows, however it keeps shutting off randomly and from a distance I don't have much ability to help him. Any ideas? We updated all drivers and chipset and all that, haven't done a bios update yet, but will maybe tomorrow. Is this a known issue? Things to look out for? 

Any help is appreciated.

No, at first the lights and fans stay on, after a while it reboots.

then it's a windows issue most likely, try reinstalling or reseting windows.

Can you go to the bios and check the CPU temp?
