When you try the onboard ports did you remove your gpu before you did it? I would try a different pci-e slot/reseating it.

Hi I've just built my first pc it has a GTX 770 and I've tried to connect to a monitor by HDMI and dvi to VGA adapter but I get no video output so I tried the onboard ports but they didn't work.

What should I do

Note:the fans and lights in the 770 work.

sounds like your monitor isn't liking the source or adapter being used. what monitor and pix of build would help.
