Whats up party people? I've got a bit of a long read here so hopefully its worth while.

Back in high school my evenings where spent playing source with the "guys". I haven't gamed since source went down, and my hardware is pretty fucking poor at this point. The "guys" have decided that none of us play enough of anything anymore and are having thursday CS;GO days. The issue I've run into is that my laptop is turd and can't muster anything more then 30 FPS on medium settings. So I've gone out and assembled the cheapest desktop i could muster that will run it decently which is really a second hand HP-H8-1212 i bought second hand for $30 CAD and tossed a Zotac 1050 TI OC 4GB into (was an open box clear out deal locally for $150 cad). This set up runs CS:GO at 160 fps without issue on high settings, but now that I am re-exploring other games in my library and wanting to play more I am finding that it is not good enough.

I've decided I'm going to build a "Budget" gaming PC with the following components

MOBO: Gigabyte AB350m-DS3H (micro ATX)
CPU: ?!?!?
RAM: Patriot Viper elite 16 GB kit @ 2666 Mhz

Storage: 1 TB SSD and 2 TB harddrive from my HP
GPU: Zotac 1050 ti OC. I want to run this until I can afford a 1070ti  / 1080ti

Ram: Patriot Viper Elite 16GB kit

I need advice on what CPU to get I've been told the Ryzen 2200G would be fine given my GPU, I've also been told that anything less then a 2600 is a waste of time?

2200G: $125 CAD
1500X: $185 CAD
2600: $230 CAD

What would you do?

You already have a GPU, don't get a 2200G or 2400G.

1600/2600 is the best value you're gonna get. I personally run a 1600 in my rig, it's a beast of a CPU.
