MorganO

good afternoon

currency is GBP and UK

i have the case and can remote into the pc after setup

which would be the best option

i have media from 480p to UHD 2160 sources

streaming internally on my network from a crhomecast to iphones and the same externally

ideally 10 sata ports on the board , intel dont offer this at a reasonable price

budget ideally is between £500-650

RAM HAS BEEN UPDATED TO Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

Build 1 AMD

Build 2 Intel:

out of the two what would be most suitable/offer the best performance and RELIABILITY

most likely will end up using windows (remote desktop)

i think i would, id potentially have to encode up to 6 streams currently

but on the core thing, my alternative would be the 2400g but the board i'm using doesn't have video out making that a moot point

4c/8t could probably work im just not sure

and my 2700x gets hammered whilst transcoding a 2160 source to my iphone

is faster ram gonna affect the transcoding speed its not for gaming or anything

also the x370 is the only board with 10 sata ports

z370 has 8 which for me is the minimum

for amd 100% sure, infinity fabric is clocked with ram clock, so yeah, for intel 2600mhz is enough. btw there is no board with 10 sata ports, 8 is max on both intel and amd

ok faster ram isn't much more expensive

but there is an amd board with 10

that must mean that it has some extra sata controller on the board then :/ 6 sata + 2 nvme/sata combo is standard I think

there are some cheap pci-e to sata cards, they are ok, if you need more storage, you can always get a raid card, but they are bit pricier
