upgrade PC Upgrade advice

Hi Guys

 

I currently own the following pc : 

 

Msi Rx480 4gb

I7 3770k running at stock

Gigabyte p8p67 mobo

Corsair 8gb @ 1333mhz

Ssd and hdd

Windows 10

Leadex superflower 750w psu

 

Should i upgrade the Gfx card to a 1070ti or 1080? Or should i upgrade the mobo,cpu and ram to a core i5 9600k or Ryzen 7. 

 

Which upgrade would be most beneficial at the moment? I can only really afford either the Gfx card or the cpu,motherboard,ram upgrade kit.

 

I would like to future proof as much as possible within budget. I only use the system for games @ 1080p however i would like to have the option to do higher res gaming in the future.

 

Any advice would be great!

What games are you playing and what framerate are you getting in those games? Your current system should be able to manage 1080p medium in most games.

I get 1080p 60fps on high in bf 5 and almost all new games, would like ultra.

 

I want to upgrade though. This is probably the only time of the year i have money for something like this.

Seeing as how you are already getting good gaming performance for your system, I would probably just wait to be honest. Maybe see what Zen2 (Ryzen 3000 series CPUs) brings out in the next few months.

If you want maybe check eBay or craigslist for some used DDR3 RAM and spend $15-$20 on another 8GB of 1333MHz DDR3 memory to give yourself 16GB. Don't waste your money buying new DDR3 since you won't be able to use DDR3 on any new platforms. Used DDR3 is really cheap.

change up that cpu and ram and mobo. get something on the new platforms to get ddr4 ram and a better cpu. the gpu is ok and can last another year maybe 2 if you really want it to. but other than that i think its good. but that old ddr3 needs to go

Ultra settings aren't all the much of an increase in quality for a solid FPS hit.  Obviously I DID pay to run Ultra, but I would advise anyone on a budget not to.
