Does the Dell s2417dg and the AOC ag241qg have bad colour banding?

Looking at getting one of these monitors. Not sure about them though as I have read reviews saying they have horrible colour banding. Does anyone have any experience with buying them recently as I think there have been revisions. They are the 24 inch variants of the monitors.

S2417DG certainly does. Never tested the AOC though.

Are all of them like this, or is it just that people are more likely to talk about it online if they have a problem with it? It seems weird that this monitor which has perfect reviews on pcpartpicker and 4 star review average in amazon, has a huge flaw with it.

It's a design flaw in the monitor, not a defect. So it is present in all units.

 

It only shows up in certain types of images (with dark content) so it may not be immediately noticable to everyone.
