think the mobo is the problem because of the bios with the crazy letters

Sorry if the link doesn't work, you can always copy and paste or right click and go to. But when i start the computer up it works fine then as soon as windows loads it just goes to a black screen, I have tried to reformat and it still does it, I have also removed the battery from the mobo and the weird letters still pop up on the bios. I have no idea what is wrong with this comptuer but I do know the computer has been cleaned a lot because it is around a smoker.

Oh that's simple. Your graphic card memory is faulty. You should RMA it.

The font in the BIOS boot up is stored on the graphic card memory.

In some cases it can be the system memory. You test your RAM with MemTestx86 or use the Windows 7 disk to run a memory diagnostic. Let it run for a while, then test each individual stick one by one. If still nothing is being detected, then its most likely your graphic card that is broken. To confirm that it is the graphic card, change card (hopefully it's not the motherboard)

I had an identical problem' date=' I reinstalled my Windows 7 and it worked again. But you seem to have more troube with it than I did.[/quote']

No it is not the same issue. Look at the BIOS screen carefully. You have random characters. The bios boot process is in no relation to Windows.

how sure are you about the GPU, and for a test i will put it in my own computer to try it out because this is a friends pc, and for the ram im doing the test now with each stick, but i still dont see why the gpu would be a problem.

In the BIOS bootup stage, each character is loaded on the GPU memory. However, it might be corrupted somewhere else, like your system RAM, or broken CPU, or motherboard (chipset or down to even the PCI-E slot.. it can also be dust to some extend.. although rare that it causes an issue)
