I have yet to use QVL listed RAM with my Asus motherboard but as @Beowulff83 said Ryzen memory support has come a long way. I was an early adopter of Ryzen and it was so unstable even at stock speeds, now I can run at the rated 3000MHz issue free. I would not worry about the QVL list. Just get a solid dual channel high-speed RAM kit, Ryzen's benefits of 3000MHz+ dual channel RAM are decently significant.
