Memory upgrade/Motherboard problem.

I recently purchased HyperX Fury 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3 1866 to go into an ASUS Maximus VII Ranger motherboard but when using both sticks it gets to either the blue Windows 10 logo or the "Preparing automatic repair" screen and just hangs there.

I've tried both sticks separately and the PC boots just fine but it's just not working with both in. 
Any ideas what I can try next?

Edit - Forgot to mention that looking in the bios both sticks are being detected with the correct speeds etc.
