So I already have the CPU, Ryzen 7 2700, mouse, keyboard, and moniter, but I don't have any other parts. Budget is a hard $1,230 US, I am looking to be able make VR games on Unity. Also looking to overclock processor, also have a nice looking build, with side panel window if at all possible. I would also prefer if products are on Amazon

So you have CPU & Peripherals, but you have 1230USD left to spend, correct?

You can OC the 2700 on the included cooler, or add a separate one. I had set these things to Amazon only, but the display in the thread doesn't want to show that.

I just threw this together in a couple minutes. It depends on if you need some more ram, or if you already have a copy of windows. Turns out, you can get a pretty banger system if you already have a CPU. I left some money out for you to choose on a case, since I don't really have the best opinions all the time.

The main things that differ is 16 vs 32 gb ram and gpus

Design programs are notorious memory hogs, the reason for the 32 Gb suggestion. For any testing, you want as much GPU as possible. Problem is you'd have to compromise a lot of the rest of the system to improve the GPU all that much. It might be possible to squeeze a 2070 into the build.

what do you mean?

VR/Development stuff. VR is hard to run and in a development environment, running dual GPUs might cause more problems than it'd solve.

Functionally the same. For VR, it wouldn't surprise me if the 1080 was better some of the wonkiness.

If you can get a used 1080 for reasonable, or especially a 1080 Ti, that'd probably be best.

If you can scavenge some spindle drives from another computer and/or find things a few bucks cheaper at another website... there's a 2080 Build.

The reason I didn't go with 32 gb is because it's so expensive. I think it might even be cheaper to buy 2 16 GB packages, at least in some cases. But 32 GB would be a good choice if you could work around that in the other parts of the budget.
