What is that elastic tacky substance they put under circular vibration motors in phones .. and under the batteries... And can i buy that in relatively large quantities?? (Within 500 grams...but after drying it should still have that tackiness)

Could be double sided tape, sort of like butyl I think. Can buy it on eBay etc dirt cheap.

Could really be anything, no one would know the wiser. Some lead contimated toxic waste. Remember its a 5yr old child in a 3rd world putting it all together. Child will never in his lifetime even make $1000, nor the combined wage of all 1000 workers.

 

I would guess that the silastic is used to minimize vibration to other components inside the phone, so there is no annoying rattle. Just a drop of toxicity at a time.
