Hey LTT forum,

I'm currently using an X99 system with 32GB of Ram, i7 5930K, and a GTX 980ti.  I use it for three things, gaming, editing video in Adobe, and school.  Currently pushing 4 displays, a 34" ultrawide, a 32" 1440p, and two 28" 1080 (in portrait mode).

I want to upgrade my main display (when they release) to a 200hz ultrawide 3440x1440.  So with that I'll need something more that the 980ti to get above the 75-90 fps I'm seeing right now in most games.

I also don't like that when Adobe Media Encoder is processing a video I can't really game. This leaves me to sometimes run my processing overnight, leaving my computer on.  I'm not a fan of leaving my computers on when I'm not using them.

I was planning to use this older computer as a networked processing system, so when I'm done editing on my new computer I can send the workload to this older one and let me game on the new one (of course whenever they do release those 200hz ultrawide displays).

Do you all have any insights into this type of work flow?

As far as the new system, I was thinking of a Threadriper based system, but haven't yet settled on the parts yet, still waiting on the displays to be released to market.
