So I just finished building my very first PC with a Xeon X3470 and a GTX 960 4GB. I downloaded all my drivers and just opened up Fortnite but it somewhat disappointed me with barely even 70 FPS on medium settings (especially because I watched a YouTube video on someone benchmarking almost the exact same specs with much better success).

Is it possible that my CPU is bottlenecking my performance or are there other potential problems or settings that I need to change with a brand new PC.

run some benchmarks, like heaven, in window mode, and check cpu-z and gpu-z to see if they are running at stock clock, or throttling.

also you didnt mention how much ram youve got, i assume it's 8gb ddr3, in that case it's fine. if not that will be a serious limitation.

I don't really know much about Xeon CPUs other than they're like server or workstation CPUs. I don't think they are really meant for gaming so I think maybe that's the bottleneck.

xeon cpus are as good as other consumer skus in gaming in the same spec.

why everybody post the spec of their rig here? i dont! cuz its made of mashed potatoes!
